Project Work - Nexus
These are walk throughs from the game Nexus. The videos below demonstrate the animations of the traversal system and powers in the game. All animations were animated using motion capture data except for the climbing animations. All climbing animations were key framed. The game was rendered in the Unreal Engine Developer's Kit.
Nexus is a physics based adventure/puzzle game created using UDK.
Story:
In 2010, archaeologists discovered a hidden tunnel underneath a temple in Mexico. An initial team was sent in to explore the ruins.
Chris Reynolds, and his father Joshua, are part of a second team. Chris and his father were led to believe that it was just another archeological dig. They soon discover that they were actually sent down there to help find an alien energy source of massive power.
The team discovers an alien device that gives Chris powers through a set of alien gauntlets. Separated from the team, Chris is left alone to discover the meaning of his strange powers and find a way out of the dangerous and mysterious ancient civilization.
